If you think pelicans look like some close relative of a dinosaur, you are just about right. The pelican family is at least 30 million years old. They are one of the largest and most recognizable water birds. Catching fish in their elastic throat pouch, pelicans fish mostly in shallow water, that is if they are not hanging around the fishing docks looking for an easy handout.
The Pelican tile is 4” x 4” and made from white stoneware and glazed with a lead-free, very durable glaze in a variety of color options. It features a hand carved subject in bas-relief. The colors you see are the actual glazes but may appear slightly different due to the type of monitor you may be viewing the product on. Because of the handmade nature of the tiles, slight variances in color, finish and size will occur and this gives every handmade tile its unique character. Completely made in the USA.
